Palace courtyard set for a luxury Jaipur destination wedding

Jaipur does something few destinations manage: it is genuinely royal, genuinely accessible, and genuinely capable of hosting 600 guests without the logistics collapsing. A three-hour drive or a 55-minute flight from Delhi, with an international airport, deep vendor infrastructure and a hotel inventory that ranges from working palaces to boutique havelis, it remains the most requested destination on our board.

Here is how the city actually plays out for a 2026 wedding.

The venue tiers

Palace hotels (200–800 guests)

Rambagh Palace — the benchmark. Mughal gardens, marble corridors, a lawn that photographs like nothing else in India. Expect a full-buyout conversation for large weddings.

Jai Mahal Palace — 18 acres of Mughal gardens close to the city centre. Slightly gentler on budget than Rambagh with comparable grandeur.

Rajmahal Palace — smaller, more design-forward, ideal for a stylish 150–250 guest wedding that wants personality over scale.

Samode Palace and Samode Haveli — about 40 km out for the palace; courtyards, frescoes and an intimacy the big hotels cannot replicate.

Resort and fort properties (250–1,000 guests)

Fairmont Jaipur — Moorish-Rajput architecture, huge banquet and lawn capacity, the workhorse for multi-day weddings with large guest lists.

The Leela Palace Jaipur — newer, dramatic Aravalli backdrop, strong for sangeet and reception production.

Alila Fort Bishangarh — a 230-year-old warrior fort, an hour from the airport. Best for 120–200 guests who want a genuine wow arrival.

Shiv Vilas, Chomu Palace, Le Meridien — reliable large-format options with good vendor access.

Boutique and intimate (40–150 guests)

Narain Niwas Palace, Dera Mandawa, Bar Palladio-adjacent private havelis and several private estates on Delhi Road suit micro-weddings where the design budget matters more than the guest count.

Realistic 2026 costs

All-in figures, including venue, stay, F&B, decor, production, entertainment and planning, for a three-day wedding:

Guest countBoutique / haveliPalace hotelFull palace buyout
100INR 55–90 lakhINR 1.1–1.8 cr
250INR 1.2–1.8 crINR 2.2–3.6 crINR 4 cr+
500INR 4–6.5 crINR 7 cr+

Peak dates (mid-November to mid-February, plus the auspicious November and December muhurat clusters) carry 25–40% premiums and sell out 12–14 months ahead. March, and the September–October shoulder, deliver the same property at materially better rates.

Season, honestly

  • October to March — the reason people book Jaipur. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, flawless evening lawns.
  • April to June — 40°C+. Workable only with indoor or late-night formats, and rates fall sharply.
  • July to September — monsoon. Beautiful light, real rain risk, and a mandatory weatherproofing budget.

Permissions nobody warns you about

Jaipur weddings routinely need: sound licence and the 10 pm outdoor-music cut-off enforced by the Rajasthan noise rules, a police NOC for road-facing baraats, an excise permit for liquor service, PPL/IPRS music licensing, drone permission via the DGCA Digital Sky portal for aerial filming, and fire clearance for any temporary structure. Elephants and camels are tightly regulated; horses and vintage cars are the compliant route to a cinematic entry. A planner who does not raise these in the first meeting will raise them in the last week.

Logistics that decide guest experience

  • Airport transfers — Jaipur International handles most Delhi, Mumbai and Gulf arrivals; budget 40–60 minutes from airport to most palace properties.
  • Room blocks — hold rooms across two properties for 300+ guest weddings; single-property blocks push rates up 20%.
  • Vendor imports — Jaipur has excellent local floral, tenting and lighting capability. Importing a full Delhi crew adds 12–18% and is only justified for signature design work.
  • Guest movement — coach transfers between functions, always. Self-drive guests are the single biggest cause of late starts.

A three-day flow that works

Day 1 — afternoon arrivals, evening welcome dinner in a courtyard, low production, high hospitality. Day 2 — morning mehendi under shade, evening sangeet with full stage and choreography. Day 3 — daytime haldi, evening pheras with fire-safe mandap lighting, late reception.

Keep one function outdoors, one under cover, one hybrid. That single rule has saved more Jaipur weddings than any contingency plan.
